| Words. I do well with words. They've gotten me this far, yet everything I've gained with them is not what I ultimately want. More on the limits of words in another entry. In the third part of my story of self we focus on actions. As promised, we dive right into the 3 techniques which I'm now using to improve my life. In joy! The moment is life, and life is breath. We sit on the couch after a long day and exhale loudly all of our breath; when we’re emotionally moved we become breathless; when we’re frightened suddenly we stop breathing and shout, “Oh, my God!”; like when we’re laughing so hard that we can’t breathe. The ancient Hindus would say that The Divine is found between the breaths. They would count a life, not in numbers of years, but in numbers of breaths. They taught the benefit of various practices of deepening, holding, and slowing down one’s breath. A breathing technique I’ve been using when I feel a negative automatic thought coming has a 1-4-2 count. Literally, if I inhale for 1 second, I hold my breath (lower jaw & shoulders relaxed; let the air fill your stomach, then your lungs) for 4, exhaling for 2; in practice I’ve been inhaling for 3 seconds, holding for 12, exhaling for 6. What this does is relaxes my mind. I can’t hold on to breath, so why hold onto thoughts? Secondly, I’ve been been using sound to heal by listening to the frequency 528 hz. You know when you listen to an uplifting song, but you’re in a fragile state so the next song which randomly plays screws you up all over again? Rather than play songs, I’ve been playing the 528 hz frequency when I’m awake or asleep as a healing practice. This is the third note in The Ancient Solfeggio Frequencies, the note MI on the scale which is short for the saying ‘MI-ra gestorum’ in Latin meaning ‘miracle’. It is also the exact same frequency which genetic biochemists use when repairing DNA, life’s genetic blueprint. It's Nature's miracle healing tone. Lastly, I decided to face the monster. Those places where I was when the world was so small, let me go back there. People embark on pilgrimages where saints, sages, and stars sang, slept, and sparked inspiration that changed their worlds. I went on a pilgrimage, the places where I was inspired, grew, changed. With every step I took, I noted a growth in warmth enveloping me as I recalled win after win. Again I felt spring mist on my eyelashes as I slipped through thick bush on flat-soled shoes, up hills, across bridges, all the places where I let go of giving up for the first time. You can embark on your own Pilgrimage of Victories. Every step is a victory, as you’re filling up the shining golden trophy case in your heart. Where you are right now is a place where you can reflect your growth. Like trees we grow towards The Sun, each at her own pace. Like flowers we shine the same energy that we devour from The Source from which we never really separated. Every moment we observe where we are, we're shining our True, alive selves as we are in this moment. Shine. In summary, I use these concrete actions as steps to, 1) Slow the breath and the mind before it can overload me with inaccurate, out-of-date information; 2) Slowly align with my destined frequency; 3) Observe where I am right now, and decide my next step from Here. Breathe slow, enjoy all the steps towards your goals, every single one is an opportunity. We've come so far. That's myself as of late January 2015. All Love! <4 |
